Taaleem-e-Quran

Children do Hifz of Quran al Majeed in the spacious and airy Quran Room. Brightly lit, with a peaceful and quiet ambience and wide spaces; the atmosphere is perfectly conducive for high concentration and a calm mind, both of which are essential for Hifz and Muraajaat. And to top it all – an intricate ceiling dome inscribed with Surah Fateha, Surah Ikhlaas and Surah Kauser. A must-visit.

Learning Rooms

MSB is home to spacious, sunlit, airy classrooms with vibrant billboards and comfortable seating. Children have the option to leave some of their books in a storage space in their desk, or in their personal, secure lockers. Each classroom is internet-enabled, with its own projector. It is also equipped with its own smart (interactive) board; the SMART Learning Suite software enables teachers to transform static content into interactive experiences with lesson delivery, assessments, collaborative workspaces and game-based activities.

FS Activity Room

The foundation stage activity room receives high points in popularity! The little ones adore the areas and corners designated to different aspects of growth and development. This is their opportunity to behave like adults (cooking, ironing…) or then to just be kids (water, sand, play dough and lots more)!

Cooking

Cooking in the early years is a great, fun experience which offers a wealth of learning and development. One cooking activity is able to promote all seven areas of the EYFS and because children enjoy the experience so much they are not even aware they are learning about numbers or developing skills. Cooking also gives children knowledge about food, where it comes from and what is healthy and unhealthy.

Water-play

A water centre fosters cognitive development, teaches mathematics and science concepts, enhances physical skills, promotes social learning and cooperative effort, and enriches language experiences.

Math

As well as numeracy, it helps skills such as problem-solving, understanding and using shapes/measures and developing their own spatial awareness. It helps them to recognise, create and describe patterns, which is essential for early problem-solving skills.

Construction

Construction play can be vast. Simple things such as counting bricks, measuring weight and moving objects all contribute to making a child think outside the box.

Sand-play

Young children love the freedom to get into the sand pit, to explore and experiment.

Investigation

Children are the masters of exploration and investigation, showing a curiosity about their environment. It sparks their curiosity and allows them to use a range of senses to investigate.

Junk modelling

Children can create and solve problems, and as a result generate feelings of motivation and reward. When children can engage with environments and resources like this in their play they can express their creativity, innovation and cognitive ability.

Steam

STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) is about combining subjects so that the elements of each are applied to others; children have the opportunity to experience learning in different ways and develop problem-solving skills.

Playdough

Playing with dough is relaxing and creative and there is no right answer. It encourages the development of fine motor skills, concentration, creativity and offers opportunities for the development of language and social skills.

Table-top

Children will enjoy playing with a variety if jigsaws and table-top toys. This will be the start of early reading and mathematics, and will help to develop children’s hand-eye co-ordination.

ICT Suite

MSB uses information technology as a tool to accelerate the learning process. With our ICT suite, (equipped with a PC per student), a smart board (an interactive whiteboard with touch-sensitive display), iPads and a permanent projector, we optimise e-learning for our students.

  • Students are encouraged to make use of the infinite reach of the world wide web.
  • Dedicated and knowledgeable information technology professionals lead the learning process.
  • Consistent online interaction between parents, teachers and students is facilitated through the school portal.

  • A variety of apps and educational software such as Nearpod, Blendspace, Socrative, Padlet, Smart Note, Kahoot and QR Codes are used by the school.
  • The school has subscribed to myON, Mangahigh and MyiMaths for online reading and math activities.

Library

We have a spacious library fully equipped with encyclopedias, reference/fiction/non-fiction books and workstations, with access to e-learning. Students are encouraged to read from a very early age and regular book reviews are the norm.

MSB also subscribes to myON, an online library of age-appropriate, themed texts. Teachers plan better because they can check the reading statistics of students.
