Wellness at MSB

At MSB, we prioritise our students’ overall wellbeing.

We are committed to nurturing our students’ hearts and minds, helping them thrive academically and emotionally as they embark on the journey of “Becoming the Beloved.”

Our focus this academic year is “Becoming the Beloved,” highlighting our dedication to promoting mental health, emotional resilience, and a sense of belonging. Our staff, counselors, and teachers collaborate to create a nurturing, inclusive environment where each student feels valued and heard. We encourage open communication, ensuring students can seek guidance.

Practical activities like mindfulness, yoga, and stress management workshops equip students with coping skills and emotional resilience. Fostering unity and belonging ensures students feel accepted by their peers. In the embrace of “Becoming the Beloved,” MSB remains steadfast in our commitment to nurturing the holistic development of our students. Together, we empower them to flourish academically and emotionally, fostering an environment of wellness, resilience, and belonging.

Supporting Student Wellbeing: GL Pass Survey

Social and emotional wellbeing are crucial for fostering effective learning environments. We are excited to announce that our school has undertaken the GL Pass Survey (Pupil Attitudes to Self and School) to enhance the wellbeing of our students and their learning experiences. This survey is designed to gather valuable insights into various aspects of student life, including academic challenges, social dynamics, and emotional wellbeing.

By gaining insights into these aspects, we can better understand the factors influencing student experiences. The results from the GL Pass Survey will enable us to tailor our support systems effectively, ensuring that every student receives the necessary assistance to thrive both academically and personally.

Our goal is to create a supportive and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and empowered to succeed academically and personally.

The survey helps us eliminate guesswork by focusing on three main areas:

  • How students perceive themselves
  • Their level of engagement with the curriculum
  • Their overall feelings about school

Positive Behaviour Intervention and Support (PBIS)

Positive Behaviour Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based, tiered framework for supporting students’ behaviour, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. It focuses on teaching and reinforcing positive behaviours while preventing and addressing challenging behaviours in a consistent and structured manner. It recognizes that all students can learn appropriate behaviour and that school staff can create a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere where students can thrive.
